Presentation

~ After a BA in Human Sciences at the University of Oxford and a MSc in Medical Anthropology at UCL, I am currently working on an interdisciplinary research project on the modeling of artificial life in closed environments, under the supervision of Perig Pitrou (social anthropologist, CNRS) and Régis Ferrière (statistical evolutionary ecologist, Ecole Normale Supérieure; University of Arizona) ~ ~ I am interested in the way social anthropology and ethnographic methods enable to contextualise the approaches of evolutionary anthropology and psychology concerning human social and cultural behaviour. While my previous dissertation research dealt with a critical reading of idioms employed in evolutionary psychology to understand (1) masquerade traditions, and (2) the therapeutic interaction between humanoid robots and autistic children, I am animated more broadly by the interdisciplinary interface between social/medical anthropology on the one hand, and evolutionary biology on the other. Recurring themes in my research touch on questions of persona, (imputation) of agency, and social inferences in ecological and/or technological contexts. ~ ✧ Based at the Laboratoire d'Anthropologie Sociale (UMR 7130), founded by Claude Lévi-Strauss at the Collège de France - PSL. >> http://las.ehess.fr/index.php ✧ Anthropology of Life Research Group: http://las.ehess.fr/index.php?2408 ✧ Registered at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (EHESS); funded by the Mission for Interdisciplinary Initiatives of the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS). ✧ Potential sites of investigation include Biosphere 2 in Arizona, as well as Ecotron structures in France. ⤻ https://biosphere2.org ⤻ https://www.ecotron.cnrs.fr ✦ More info on the project and thesis: http://www.theses.fr/s260059 ✦ Academic page: http://bit.ly/ElieDanziger ✦ LinkedIn Profile: https://www.linkedin.com/in/elie-danziger/ ✧ Also interested in scientific mediation and the communication of anthropological knowledge through social, architectural and health-related projects. ☞ Check out the 'Life in the Making Collective' ! >> http://lifeinthemaking.net/
